This page includes all the information you need to know hosting your child’s birthday party at Medibank Icehouse.
Every kid’s birthday ice skating party incorporates:
Food: tasty treats and drinks from our café
Gear and safety: regular skate hire for every child, plus optional safety equipment
Lesson: a fun 15-minute lesson on the ice with trained Ice Ambassador prior to the General Skate session, so they can find their feet on the ice and feel confident and secure in their skates.
Skating: kids are then free to skate off with their friends for the remainder of the General Session.
Age
Our kids’ birthday parties are specifically designed for 5 to 12-year-olds. If your child is heading toward their teenage years, you might consider our teen party packages.
Packages
A choice of three delicious menus portioned for kids aged 5- 12. From party food to healthy options, there is sure to be a menu that suits your needs! If you would like to cater for your guests with more food you are welcome to move to the teen package.

Let Medibank Icehouse take the stress and hassle out of organising your kids’ birthday party. Order the birthday cake, lolly bags, balloons and more with us for a carefree party.
Birthday cakes
Personalised, skating-themed birthday cakes are available to order. Four different flavours, brightly-coloured icing of your choice, smarties, hundreds and thousands and three designs to choose from – your child’s birthday cake is sure to be a massive hit!
If you choose to bring your own birthday cake, there is a $20 cakeage fee.

Adults*
Adults are welcome to join the party free of charge – get out on the ice with the kids and enjoy the full experience! You can even cater for your adult guests with our tasty adult platters. Adults receive 10% off skating and are more than welcome to join the lesson.
Party room
On the day, your party will be allocated a rink-side room for the 2 hour party duration. Your host will show you to your room when you arrive.
Number of children
There is no minimum number of children required to host a birthday at Medibank Icehouse. Less than 10 children will cost $300 (minimum spend); for more than 10 children, the charge will be calculated per head. If you have less than 10 children, you can make up the minimum spend by purchasing add-ons.
Invitations
Medibank Icehouse will email you some really cool printable SkaterDude invitations, which include all the information your guests will need to know (invitations will be sent once your deposit of $100 has been received.)
