Congratulations to Jon Pol, Rob Clark, Travis Alabaster and Kevin Dow on their selection to the Victoria team for the Jim Brown Trophy, a National tournament for non-AIHL players.

You will find the boys working around the rink as a Duty Manager (Jon Pol), in retail, ticketing and as ice ambassadors and hockey coaches (Rob Clark, Travis Alabaster and Kevin Dow).

RESULTS: The Victorian team defeated the NSW team 4:1 to win the tournament on Saturday 27 October.  


Lliam Webster, Tommy Powell - Australian Men's Ice Hockey Team: IIHF Division 1 | Group B: Krynica, Poland April 2012

Congratulations to Lliam Webster and Tommy Powell on representing the Australian Men's Ice Hockey team in Poland in April. After winning the Division 2 Group A Championships held at Medibank Icehouse in 2011 the Australian team was promoted to Division 1 Group B.  Australia competed against Korea, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland and Romania.

Both Tommy and Lliam work at Medibank Icehouse as School and Hockey school coaches. You will also catch them in the skate sharpening room when they're not on the ice.

Shona Green - Australian Women's Ice Hockey Team: IIHF Division 2 | Group A: Maribor, Slovenia March 2012

Congratulations to Shona Green on representing the Australian Women's Ice Hockey team in Slovenia in March. Australia were awarded the bronze medal competing against Croatia, DPR Korea, Hungary, New Zealand and Slovenia.

Shona works at Medibank Icehouse as School and Hockey School Coach. You will also catch her in the skate sharpening room.

Lachlan Hay - Winter Olympian and Australian Team Member | Short Track Speed Skating

Lachlan was a member of the Australian Olympic team for Torino 2006, racing as a short track speed skating member of the 5000m relay team which finished in sixth place. Four years later Lachlan competed at his second Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, 2010, where he finished 26th in the men’s 1000m.

Lachy trains with the Australian Short Track Speed Skating Squad at Medibank Icehouse most mornings. He also works as a Schools Coach and with Corporate team building groups.

Shona Green, Shaden Ganac - Melbourne Ice Women's Team, Australian Women's Ice Hockey League Final: Adelaide February 2012

Congratulations to the Melbourne Ice girls Shona and Shae on making the AWIHL Finals for the second year running. The Melbourne Ice Women's team won the championship in 2011 in 2012 they were beaten to the post by Adelaide Adrenaline with the home rink advantage.

Shona works at Medibank Icehouse as School and Hockey School Coach. You will also catch her in the skate sharpening room.

You will see Revenue Manager, Shae, here bright and early during the week in the retail shop.

Medibank Icehouse is lucky enough to have four season 2012 Medibank Melbourne Ice players on staff. Medibank Melbourne Ice is the back-to-back AIHL Champions winning the Goodall Cup in 2010 and 2011.

Matt, also a Canadian, is a man of many talents. Matt works at Medibank Icehouse as a Hockey School Coach, Ice Tech and Duty Manager.

Australian's Tommy and Lliam both work at Medibank Icehouse as School and Hockey School coaches. You will also catch them in the skate sharpening room when they're not on the ice.


Ice Tech Team - Producing World Record Ice | World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships: Medibank Icehouse February 2012

During the 2012 World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships the Medibank Icehouse ice tech team produced world class ice for 155 athletes from 29 countries to compete on.  

Congratulations to ice techs Ken McCoy, Simon Keeley, Skeet Lau, Ryan Corbett and Brian Morrissey on ISU officially recognising two World Records being recorded at Medibank Icehouse.
