YOUTH & ADULT SEPTEMBER HOLIDAY CAMPS
The Icehouse Hockey Academy Youth Holiday Camp will be running from Monday the 23rd to the Friday the 27th of September. The ALL DAY camp will start from 9am and run until 4:15pm. Each day will consist of 2x 1 hr ice sessions, off-ice positioning lectures (chalk talk) and team building - sport specific activities and games, and lunch is provided.
The Icehouse Hockey Academy Adult Holiday Camp will be running from Monday the 30th of September to Wednesday the 2nd of October. The camp will consist of 1 hr of ice and 1 hr of gym/fitness each day. Ice time runs from 6:45pm to 7:45pm, and off ice runs from 8pm to 9pm.

Teaching the in's and outs of goaltending to help you improve your game in net!
Beginning Tuesday 21st May, the Icehouse Goaltending Academy will hold it's first development class for all current goaltenders. Join Jon Olthuis, goaltender for the Melbourne Mustangs, in a 1hr session from 4:30pm for the last 5 weeks of term 3. Classes will be a drop-in basis and will focus on basic fundamentals to advanced techniques and strategies.

- 4 years NCAA division 1 college hockey
- 2 years Southern Professional Hockey League
- 4 years goalie instructor at Banff hockey school in Canada

Cost: Hockey Academy is an upfront payment of $275 (Tues and Wed) per term and $247.50 for Saturdays. This includes 1 hour of instruction, hockey skates and full equipment hire included in term fee.
If you are a beginner skater try Youth Basic 1 or Adult 1 in Skate School. These classes are in small groups and designed for KIDS AND ADULTS who are beginners and who are interested in learning to skate before joining hockey Academy. No equipment is used during the class. For skaters wanting to focus on their skating skills while taking Hockey Academy classes we recommend levels up to Youth Intermediate 1 and Adult 4 which cover more advanced skating skills and techniques.

YOUTH INTRO TO HOCKEY : After starting out with the skating basics, the program encourages development by taking youths through a series of skill levels preparing them to play ice hockey.
Tuesdays: 4:30pm - 5:30pm
YOUTH INTERMEDIATE HOCKEY (under the age of 18) For skaters who have completed the Youth Intro course
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE (under the age of 18) For skaters who have completed youth intermediate and are now ready to learn the fundamentals of the game through playing the game.
INTRO TO HOCKEY ADULTS (18+): Specifically designed for adults 18 and over. After starting out with the skating basics, the program encourages development by taking adults through a series of skill levels in general skating techniques before introducing stick and puck skills.
Tuesday: Intro 4.30pm-5.30pm (All Ages)
Wednesday: Intro 6:15pm–7:15pm (18+ Only)
Saturday: Intro 9:45am-10:45am (All Ages)
ON THE EDGE (NEW CLASS): With the ever increasing intermediate group - we have noticed that there is a large gap between players who have just finished Intro, and those who are still in intermediate and are participating for the 2nd/3rd time. In comes "On the Edge", this class is perfect for those who need extra work on their skating, stickhandling etc... techniques. Instead of repeating intro from scratch - this class will get you right into the thick of things with the best opportunity to nurture your hockey skills.
Wednesday: Intro 6:15pm–7:15pm (18+ Only)
ADULT INTERMEDIATE (18+): Intermediate is suited to those who have advanced from "On the Edge" and are looking to continue their skill development.

ADULT SCRIMMAGE -NEW CLASS!!! (18+): For Intermediate level skaters as a stand alone or complementary class to extend their game play skills prior to enrolling into Development League.
Classes are only suitable for those who have completed Intermediate Hockey class and have participated in at least one term of Adult Scrimmage
DEV LEAGUE ADULTS (18+):

POWER SKATING (18+):
Wednesday: 10:00pm – 11:00pm
Power Skating includes:
1. Skating Agility –turns, pivots, edge control, three turns, two foot turns, Mohawk turns
2. Stride Mechanics- extensions & recovery, arm position, blade and ice contact, bending knees, hip to toe extension, lengthening stride
3. Starts- acceleration start, explosive skating, quick V push start
4. Stopping- weight distribution, proper stance and body positioning, proper balance and weight transfer
5. Backward Skating- backward edges, turns, stops, quick start backwards
Once the techniques are solidified the hockey players will be able to generate more power with less effort. Stop with ease and assurance, have more agility with turns and edges all while having fun!
