Hockey Academy Term 2 Intro is a terrific way to get in the game. Even if you’ve never skated before, our qualified coaches can teach you all the basics required to become a Hockey Hero!
When: In line with the Victorian School term, classes held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings (9 classes for term 1) Start Date - Tues 14th April, Wed 15th April, OR Sat 18th April.
Class duration: 1 hour instruction
Equipment: all equipment is provided
Cost: Hockey Academy Intro to Hockey is an upfront payment of $330 (includes full gear supply for the 11 week term as well as your own Icehouse Hockey Academy Jersey)
SNIPER'S ALLEY Term 2 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Both Halves of Term 2 classes are now open for registration ( 1st Half 5 weeks @ $250 and 2nd Half 6 weeks $300)
This 5 week course will cover a range of off ice training techniques and principals; helping players develop personal off ice training programs that will enhance on ice weaknesses. Become more stable, stronger and a faster athlete, allowing you to fast track your progress on your hockey journey.

Off Ice Strength & Conditioning is coached by Lliam Webster - Team Australia Captain and 3 Time AIHL Champion and League MVP. Lliam is certified in fitness levels 3 and 4, and has extensive experience with functional movement, plyometrics, and skating specific training. There are 3 different classes to choose from:
Tuesdays 5:45pm - 6:45pm - Youth (16 and under all skill levels)
6:45pm - 7:45pm - Adult Advanced
Saturdays 11:15am - 12:15pm - Adult

If you are a beginner skater try Youth Basic 1 or Adult 1 in Skate School. These classes are in small groups and designed for KIDS AND ADULTS who are beginners and who are interested in learning to skate before joining hockey Academy. No equipment is used during the class.
For skaters wanting to focus on their skating skills while taking Hockey Academy classes we recommend levels up to Youth Intermediate 1 and Adult 4 which cover more advanced skating skills and techniques.
Skate School Classes available: Saturday, Sunday and Wednesdays and are 30mins in class of 8 students + 30mins practice and free general session. Please CLICK HERE for more information!
April YOUTH HOLIDAY CAMP
As always, The Youth Holiday Hockey Camp was an exciting, fun-filled 4 days. The little players learned so much at all levels! We are already look forward to running the next camps for next holidays. We are hoping to run 2 separate camps in the next holiday. The first week will be an All Day camp for beginners to intermediate levels. The Second week will be an Elite camp with a morning ice session, morning lunch, off ice chalk talk, and Off ice speed, agility and eye hand coordination.

YOUTH INTRO TO HOCKEY : After starting out with the skating basics, the program encourages development by taking youths through a series of skill levels preparing them to play ice hockey.
Tuesdays: 4:30pm - 5:30pm (Starts Tuesday April 14th)
YOUTH INTERMEDIATE HOCKEY (under the age of 18) For skaters who have completed the Youth Intro course
(Starts Wednesday April 15th)

YOUTH Elite Hockey - (Starts Tuesday April 14th)
Tuesdays: 4:30pm to 5:30pm - Perfect for players who are at the highest level in youth Hockey Academy - This class is invite only.
INTRO TO HOCKEY ADULTS (18+): Specifically designed for adults 18 and over. After starting out with the skating basics, the program encourages development by taking adults through a series of skill levels in general skating techniques before introducing stick and puck skills.
Tuesday: Intro 4.30pm-5.30pm (Starts Tuesday April 14th)
Wednesday: Intro 6:15pm–7:15pm 18+ Only (Starts Wednesday April 15th)
Saturday: Intro 9:45am-10:45am All Ages (Starts Saturday April 18th)
ON THE EDGE (18+): With the ever increasing intermediate group - we have noticed that there is a large gap between players who have just finished Intro, and those who are still in intermediate and are participating for the 2nd/3rd time. In comes "On the Edge", this class is perfect for those who need extra work on their skating, stickhandling etc... techniques. Instead of repeating intro from scratch - this class will get you right into the thick of things with the best opportunity to nurture your hockey skills.
Tuesday: On the Edge 5:30pm to 6:30pm (Starts Tuesday April 14th)
Wednesday: On the Edge 7:30pm to 8:30pm (Starts Wednesday April 15th)
ADULT INTERMEDIATE (18+): Intermediate is suited to those who have advanced from "On the Edge" and are looking to continue their skill development.
Tuesday: Intermediate 5:30pm to 6:30pm (Starts Tuesday April 14th)
Wednesday: Intermediate 8:45pm to 9:45pm (Starts Wednesday April 15th)
ADULT SCRIMMAGE (18+): For Intermediate level skaters as a stand alone or complementary class to extend their game play skills prior to enrolling into Development League. Class is limited to those who have completed intermediate and past scrimmage terms.
Tuesdays 6:45pm Starts Tuesday April 14th
Classes are only suitable for those who have completed Intermediate Hockey class and have participated in at least one term of Adult Scrimmage. PLEASE NOTE that Term 2 Dev League will be running as usual with the normal 1 hour time slot (2 teams) from 10:00pm to 11:00pm.
DEV LEAGUE ADULTS (18+):
WEDNESDAYS: 10PM TO 11:00PM
POWER SKATING (All ages):
Wednesday: 9:45pm – 10:45pm (Start Date April 15th)
Power Skating includes:
1. Skating Agility –turns, pivots, edge control, three turns, two foot turns, Mohawk turns
2. Stride Mechanics- extensions & recovery, arm position, blade and ice contact, bending knees, hip to toe extension, lengthening stride
3. Starts- acceleration start, explosive skating, quick V push start
4. Stopping- weight distribution, proper stance and body positioning, proper balance and weight transfer
5. Backward Skating- backward edges, turns, stops, quick start backwards
Once the techniques are solidified the hockey players will be able to generate more power with less effort. Stop with ease and assurance, have more agility with turns and edges all while having fun!
Power Skating cost for term 1 is $255, bulk of 5 class sessions $120, and the drop in rate is $35.

The Sniper's Alley Range is designed for players who are serious about perfecting their shots! Players will receive expert instruction on proper technique and quality high intense shooting repetitions. Master the forehand wrist shot, back hand shot, snap shot, and the beloved "Slap Shot". Classes for Term 2 Start on Monday the 13th of April and Thursday the 16th of April.
