Melbourne Ice Sell Out Home Games!

The Icehouse has become known as the house of pain, Ice fans have ensured a sell out at every game this season thus far.  The Ice are currently in a top of the table battle as we head into the final month of the regular season. The Ice will play 5 more home games at the Icehouse before the finals series on August 28th and 29th. With star Australian player Joey Hughes back from America and in the line up the Ice are finding  good rhythm and form, playing a high speed brand of hockey that is very exciting to watch.  Join us at the Icehouse to witness Australia’s best ice hockey players battle for pride, the Melbourne Ice are your home town hero’s!
 

The next Melbourne Ice home game is on this Saturday 31 July against the Canberra Knights @ 5.45pm- get your tickets early to guarantee entry to this big game!

Pre-purchase tickets online and arrive 1 hour early to avoid missing out on a seat!

Due to the popularity of games and huge demand for tickets, the Icehouse recommends that spectators pre-purchase game day tickets from the Icehouse online store - http://store.icehouse.com.au/. Or simply visit the Icehouse Front Desk during the week prior to game day, at 105 Pearl River Road, Docklands.
Pre-purchased tickets bought online can be collected from the pre-purchased ticket stand outside the Icehouse.

**IMPORTANT: Patrons must present their e-ticket at the pre-purchased ticket stand for wristband collection/venue entry.

As these are general admission tickets, it is advised that patrons arrive up to one hour prior to the drop of the puck to ensure getting a good seat. Guests are free to enjoy a pre-game drink and some nibbles in the Icehouse St Moritz Bar which overlooks the Henke Rink.

Melbourne Ice

Ice Hockey today is a hard, fast, action-packed experience unlike any other team sport. Players wear full protective gear, and the intensity and speed of play at times is incredible.

As a result, ice hockey is a growing sport in Australia, with 4,000 current registered players, and over 13,000 registered in-line (roller blade) hockey players, many of whom progress to ice hockey.

Melbourne Ice is the only Victorian based team competing in the Australian Ice Hockey League, and are very pleased to call the Icehouse their new home.

With the best hockey talent in the State and a small number of well-credentialed imported players, Melbourne Ice is an elite team of amateurs playing at international professional level.

Since its entry into the league in 2002, Melbourne Ice has built up a strong core of players and supporters, and an increasing number of sponsors.

Several Melbourne Ice players proudly represented Australia as members of the senior men’s team that won Gold in the 2008 World Championships, taking Australia into the International Ice Hockey Federation’s Division 1. Melbourne Ice is also well represented in the U20 National Juniors and U18 National Youth Teams.

During the off-season in Australia, Ice players have been recruited to play in Canada, USA and European Leagues.

Melbourne Ice is a not-for-profit incorporated association, run by a volunteer management committee. The management group comprises individuals with high-level experience in coaching, sports management, business, government and the community sector.

With the Icehouse as their new official home, Melbourne Ice will be training and playing all home games at the venue.

So look out for the team when you’re there having fun on the ice. You never know when they might drop in to shoot some goals!
