FREE 15min BEGINNERS LESSON

If you’ve never been skating before, or you’re just looking for a refresher, Medibank Icehouse offer FREE 15 minute beginner lessons. Pull on your skates and let our Ice Ambassadors teach you the basics before you glide off to join the Public Skate. Taking part in a lesson will give you the confidence to maximise your experience.

UNDER 8's ICE FUN!

 

Under 8's Ice FUN is a drop in session designed to introduce toddlers and children to ice skating. Ice Ambassadors will asist and take the children through games using toys, music and snow  play areas to give your child a totally different toddler experience.

When: every Sunday 9am - 10am
Who: children under 8 - Parents can join there children on the ice in skates or shoes. 
What to wear: warm comfortable clothes, long socks and gloves. Change of clothes is recomended as children will be playing in snow. Skates or shoes can be worn by children and adults.

TOTS | 6 & UNDER

 

Tots Skate School offers range of classes designed to introduce your toddler to skating and to prepare them to move into Youth Skate School. After starting out with the skating basics, the program encourages development by taking children through a series of skill levels preparing them to go into ice hockey, figure skating, speed skating or recreational skating.

When: in line with the Victorian School term on Saturday and Sunday mornings
Who: beginner to advanced skater aged 6 & under
Class duration: 30 min instruction, 30 minutes practice, FREE public skating the day of your lesson.

KIDS | AGED 7 - 14

 

Youth Skate School offers range of classes from beginners to advanced levels. After starting out with the skating basics, the program encourages development by taking children through a series of skill levels preparing them to go into ice hockey, figure skating, speed skating or recreational skating.

Who: beginner to advanced skater aged 7-14

Figure Skating

Medibank Icehouse Figure Skating Academy is quickly becoming the premier training facility for figure skating in Australia. Medibank Icehouse Figure Skating Academy is quickly becoming the premier training facility for figure skating in Australia. The Academy offers lessons for beginner skaters all the way up through National and International competitors.

Rising Stars: preparing our figure skating stars of the future
Theatre on Ice: newest competitive figure skating discipline. Competing in a team to tell a story on ice
Syncronised Skating: a team of figure skaters moving as one flowing unit at high speeds
Adult Coffee Club: is open to Adults over the age of 18 who are skating at an Adult 3 level and above
Drop In Figure Skating Classes: a range of  drop in classes including ice dancing, off ice ballet, strength & conditioning and moves in the field

DROP IN  FREESTYLE

Freestyle Sessions are offered for figure skaters to train.  They allow skaters to practice their skills and programs to their own music at a time when there are only figure skaters on the ice.

Skaters are welcome to train independently, or book a private lesson with a Medibank Icehouse coach.

Who: figure skaters only. skaters must own their own figure skates.

PRIVATE LESSONS

 

Medibank Icehouse' highly qualified and professionally coaching staff offer private lessons. Lesson fees and availability is determined by the individual coach and all bookings must be made through the coach directly.

When: during Open Freestyle and Public Skating Sessions.

Ice Hockey School

Hockey School is a terrific way to get in the game. Even if you’ve never skated before, our qualified coaches, including AIHL, IHV and Australian team members,  can teach you all the basics required to become a hockey star! 

YOUTH | UNDER 18

Youth Hockey School offers a program specifically designed for Under 18's.  After starting out with the skating basics, the program encourages development by taking youths through a series of skill levels, in intro to hockey and intermediate hockey, preparing them to play ice hockey.

Who: beginner to intermediate skaters aged under 18
Class duration: 1 hour instruction
Equipment: all equipment is provided

ADULTS | AGED 18+

 

Adult Hockey School offers a program specifically designed for adults 18 and over.  After starting out with the skating basics, the program encourages development by taking adults through a series of skill levels, in intro to hockey, intermediate hockey and development league. Development league offers skaters the opportunity to play a supervised scrimage match each week.

When: in line with the Victorian School term on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings
Who: beginner to intermediate skaters aged 18 years and over
Class duration: 1 hour instruction
Equipment: all equipment is provided (Development league will need to purchase 2 jerseys)

DROP IN ICE HOCKEY

 

Adult Drop In Programs:  Adult Drop In Ice Hockey sessions run several times throughout the week. Adult Drop In Hockey is an actual game, not a training session. It is an adults-only game, all players must be over 18.

Stick and Puck Programs: Stick & Puck is a Drop-In Ice Hockey practice session for adults and kids to come together and sharpen their ice hockey skills. Stick & Puck is a training session, not an actual game.

Speed Skating School: Learn the basics of skating and short track speed skating in a fun environment with experienced instructors.
